BRIC

The Brigham Research Informatics Core (BRIC) offers informatics services to support research at BWH. The services cover a range of tasks, from creating a basic lab web site to advanced data analysis and web application development. We work both with clinical researchers, helping them collect patient data and manage clinical trials, as well as with basic science researchers, helping create data visualization and communication tools.

Step 1: Contact Griffin Weber at weber@fas.harvard.edu to arrange a free introductory meeting. We will evaluate your informatics requirements and guide you in the right direction.
Step 2: If you decide to use our services, a BRIC representative will work with you to design and plan your project. Again, there is no charge to your lab.
Step 3: Finally, your web site, database, or software application will be built by an experienced programmer. You will have an opportunity to suggest changes and request future updates. Cost estimates will be provided before any work begins, and typically range between $50 and $150 per hour.

BRIC is an initiative that utilizes the expertise of BWH "informaticians" with backgrounds in medicine, biology, engineering, biostatistics, and computer science to facilitate research at our institution by (1) providing a high level of service and expertise in informatics that is difficult for individual laboratories to achieve and maintain, (2) promoting a closer collaboration among BWH life scientists and quantitative scientists that is proving to be essential in several areas of advanced research.

We are BWH researchers who understand the system and look forward to make it work for you. Let us know of your specific informatics needs, and we will discuss and implement the solutions.
